Mary Nambusi
Founder, Marles Children’s Foundation Uganda

Mary Nambusi, born September 25, 1992, was raised in a Muslim family. Her father married her mother as a first wife. They were the first choice for him in everything. When her father married other women, the love, respect and care shifted from Mary and her mother.

He started mistreating Mary’s mother & battered Mary. She decided to find Mary a healthy home she can grow with love and care, so she decided to take Mary to stay with her Aunt to keep her away from the violent father.

Mary finally found solace in her aunt’s home. Unfortunately, the stay was short lived when her Auntie died of HIV. Her demise forced Mary to go to an orphanage that raised her and put her through school until Advanced level.

With such a challenging childhood, Mary eventually found purpose and took up the call to help vulnerable children in her community to have a second chance at life. Through her charitable work, she met Charles on Kampala streets with a mutual goal of helping street kids, and together they started the foundation.

Through Marles Children’s Foundation, they are able to meet essential basic needs of a number of children in their community.
